'Battle Ropes for Basketball'

'Battle Ropes are a great tool to help improve hand speed, grip strength, upper body strength & endurance, core strength & stability, and increase overall fitness level and conditioning. Using the ropes to perform basketball specific movements challenges the core to maintain good body position while completing the exercise, much like being bumped and grabbed while playing the game. The ropes also a great tool use when rehabilitating a lower extremity injury to keep conditioning levels up. How long you go depends on the energy system you are trying to train. Short intense intervals working on power endurance for example would include 15 seconds of work and 30 seconds of rest. You can also do longer intervals working more on conditioning, for example 30 second to 1 minute intervals with the same or less rest. If you have access to these ropes they are great to throw into a warm-up to stimulate the nervous system, or put in between sets or at the end of a workout for conditioning.
