Co-Founder & Spokesman of @kion bengreenfieldfitness.com/ben-recommends  Follow him at https://www.instagram.com/bengreenfieldfitness/  First 5 Minutes of Automated Transcript: 00:00 yeah hey hey hey 00:03 lookie who I have here hello instruments 00:06 is this is Matt maruka from raw optics 00:10 everybody\'s favorite blue light blocking 00:12 company 00:13 anyways Matt rolled into Spokane from 00:17 coast well Costa Rica well salmon I\'ve 00:20 been salmon Idaho and now he\'s here and 00:22 Matt\'s like the expert on all things 00:24 like he\'s been on my podcast before you 00:27 guys may have heard you\'ve been on twice 00:28 I think now ah just once just once that 00:30 we could okay yeah once or twice I don\'t 00:33 know we lose track anyways we just had 00:36 some amazing steaks here getting new 00:37 scoot in so people can yeah there you go 00:39 yeah nice and close and we thought it\'d 00:41 be nice if we popped on real quick first 00:44 of all we\'re gonna record a podcast 00:44 tomorrow so stay tuned for that to me 00:47 I\'m Matt\'s new show that he\'s launching 00:48 the light diet podcast but it\'s gonna 00:50 called the light it\'s a good name the 00:52 light diet podcast because not just 00:54 about your light diet it\'s all about 00:56 spirituality which is part of the reason 00:58 Ben and I are gonna be discussing and he 01:01 also eats steaks so he\'s not one of 01:02 those breatharians like a light airy 01:05 inversion or breatharian anyways we want 01:07 to do for you guys real quick is answer 01:10 three questions about light so light 01:14 circadian rhythmicity if I can talk 01:17 tonight you guys got the expert here so 01:19 let\'s see if anybody has any questions 01:21 about light light circadian rhythms 01:26 sleep cool t-shirt where can I get it 01:28 it\'s called prana it\'s a company called 01:30 prana shirts but that\'s not one of the 01:31 questions okay what glass is that\'s an 01:34 easy one we didn\'t count that one well 01:35 yeah what why why are we wearing these 01:37 glasses Matt in it give us the 1-minute 01:40 minute idea of the wavelengths if you\'re 01:44 a living organism and you can adjust to 01:47 a changing environment you have a higher 01:48 rate of survival so every organism on 01:50 earth that\'s alive today has these 01:52 things called circadian rhythms and 01:53 they\'re fluctuating with the main change 01:56 in the environment which is day and 01:57 night we all had that for all time till 01:59 1879 when we made light bulbs and then 02:02 we disrupted our circadian rhythms fire 02:04 doesn\'t disrupt it because it\'s all he\'s 02:05 warm he 02:06 Retin infrared man-made lights do so we 02:09 create blue blockers now that we can now 02:11 that the research has caught up to man\'s 02:13 inventions we block the blue light which 02:15 is what stimulates our circadian rhythm 02:17 and our body more importantly than 02:19 anything else can make melatonin which 02:20 is our magical almost sleep repair and 02:24 toxin and molecule that repairs our 02:26 mitochondrial function and so we can 02:28 sleep and live better just by resetting 02:29 our rhythm with these glasses so okay 02:33 here\'s a really good question somebody 02:35 asks can you just wear sunglasses no so 02:38 sunglasses reduce the spectrum and they 02:40 cut all the UV a great question we 02:44 recommend not wearing sunglasses because 02:46 light coming through the eyes stimulates 02:48 the production of important 02:49 neurotransmitters like serotonin which 02:52 is converting into melatonin so when you 02:54 wear sunglasses you\'re actually damaging 02:56 your brain\'s ability to make certain 02:59 yeah you\'re down regulating your ability 03:01 to produce protective melanin for your 03:03 skin which can long-term protect from 03:05 UVA and UVB radiation if you\'re out in 03:08 the Sun and Sun is not actually hitting 03:09 your retina and that\'s exactly what 03:11 happens when you\'re when you\'re wearing 03:13 sunglasses now what about if you wear 03:15 sunglasses instead of red light glasses 03:17 Yeah right 03:18 red blue blockers blue blockers like 03:19 nice this is a good term for them so 03:21 they don\'t they\'re not targeting the 03:23 blue they don\'t block any of the blue so 03:24 it\'s not gonna happen so sunglasses 03:26 don\'t block blue light the cool thing is 03:27 these just block the blue so they\'re 03:29 totally transparent you can see me just 03:31 like that you can see been just like 03:32 that just except for the blue 03:34 wavelengths sunglasses everything gets 03:36 dark you don\'t want that you want to be 03:37 able to see people\'s eyes clearly okay 03:40 then the last one these are related 03:41 questions someone asked about how'
