'Tabata is the better cardio ... If Tabata sounds like a kind of sushi roll to you, let me quickly enlighten you: The original Tabata taining consists of 8 intervals with 20 seconds high intensity work and 10 seconds rest. Therefore it’s only 4 minutes long! A dude called Dr. Tabata actually tested 2 groups of people, whereby one group was doing 4 minute Tabatas 4 times a week and the other group did 60 minutes of moderate exercise 5 times a week. 5 hours versus 16 minutes... But hey, the Tabata group improved both their aerobic fitness level (=cardiovascular) as well as anaerobic system (=muscle) while the other group only improved their aerobic fitness (also less than the Tabata group though). I mean, there is always room for debate when it comes to studies, but for me personally, 4 minutes of beastmode are way more fun that 60 minutes of thinking about what I’m gonna eat when I’m done!
