Well my good buddy Steve Shaw aka Massive Iron here on YouTube answered just that question.   Now Steve and I have not always seen eye to eye (look back at my first video) but in this case I want to back him up.     There are so many hardcore gym rats that are butt hurt over Planet Fitness\'s \"Judgment Free\" marketing strategy that they miss the big picture.   Now look, I like to poke fun at the Planet Fitness champions just like the best of them, but let\'s call it for what it is...   No matter what the gym looks like, it is very much possible to \"make gains\".   Can you train for any type of performance in the gym?  NO!  You\'re not going to be doing heavy hang cleans and overhead squats at the purple and yellow soccer mom gym.   With that said, building muscle is a whole different ball game and you can very much build muscle just about anywhere that sports resistance.   Hell even just body weight exercises at home!
